Staff & Elders

Gary Douglas is a native Odessan. He has been married to Jennifer since 1999 and they have two amazing daughters, Halie and Hannah. Gary worked as a Petroleum Landman for 17 years before vocational ministry. Preaching on the teaching team, serving in youth, leading multiple small groups, and serving as an Elder are what Gary considers a joy and privilege. Gary’s favorite activity in the church is praying with and for people. He loves ministering to people and witnessing their growth and love for Jesus.     

Haley is originally from Hemphill, Texas. She has been married to Steven since 2017 and together they have two children. She most enjoys spending time with people she loves, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, and getting some sunshine. Haley has a bachelor’s degree in education from Texas A&M University. She is passionate about serving the local church and desires to see the people of God worship Him passionately and purely.

Jim and Eileen started attending Stonegate Fellowship in 2006 shortly after moving to Odessa. Their family was part of the core group that started Stonegate Odessa at Bonham Middle School. He has served as an elder since 2020. 

Josh is a native West Texan who has been married to Misti since 2012. Together they love to spend time at the lake, relaxing in the mountains, enjoying a movie night, and watching their son—Caleb—play soccer. Josh holds an MA in Discipleship and an MA in Apologetics from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. He is passionate about equipping God’s people to grow in their faith and navigate the challenges of living in a post-Christian culture. 

Kara has lived in West Texas for most of her life and has worked for Stonegate since 2007. She was a core member of SGO when it opened as a campus of Stonegate Fellowship - Midland in 2014. She is a mom to two amazing daughters. Kara loves reading and relaxing at home, but most often finds herself chauffeuring her girls around to their many activities. She has a degree in meteorology that she now uses to decide if the church should have outdoor events.

Kent Elenburg grew up in Jacksboro Tx. He and his wife, Tonya, have been married for 37 years. They have 3 great kids and 7 grandkids. Currently, he works at Odessa Separators Inc. and serves as a non-staff elder. His passion has always been to make people comfortable in God’s house. That has taken on many forms including teaching, greeting, serving in kids ministry, as a deacon and now as an Elder. 

Steven grew up in Midland, TX. He is married to Haley and is the father of Jack and Annie. The Cain family has been at SGO since 2020. Steven has a Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry and Bible from Baptist Bible College and he has a Master’s of Theological Studies from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. In addition to leading the kids and youth ministries, he also occasionally serves on the worship and teaching teams when needed.
